More about encrypting your message...

You can encrypt your message, if you want to transmit a confidential message. Simply click Encrypt just before sending your message. The message will be encrypted directly on your machine (and it may take some seconds and if Internet Explorer comes up with a dialogue box, select "NO" to continue encrypting). This is done via Public Key encryption, which allows you to encrypt a message without a password, while only the key owner can decrypt it. If you want to be 100% sure that the key is authentic, you should call the owner and compare the fingerprint.

If you would like me to securely and confidentially e-mail you back, then I would need to know your public key. If you don’t have one, then please leave your phone number in the body of the message so that I can call you back.

If you have no idea how to make yourself a public and private key, then it would be simplest to open a Hushmail account, which provides easy encryption, and send me an e-mail to “david*@*summitvisioncenter*.*com” (remove the quotes and the stars). Or if you are interested in learning more about how to encrypt e-mail from an E-mail client like Thunderbird, then read this.
